2021 Legislative Session

The 87th Texas Legislature started on January 12, 2021 and will conclude on May 31, 2021. On this page, we will provide information about the session, action items for our members, and links to organizations who are keeping tabs on items of interest for Democrats.

General Information

You can find general information about the legislative process, including the process for introducing bills, calendars, and committees, on the Texas Legislature Online website.

Because online resources can be updated continually, they are often the most reliable sources for up- to-date information relating to recent legislative activity. Legislators and legislative staff have access to legislative information through Capitol Complex network applications and legislative intranet and Internet applications and websites. Members of the public can access most of the same information through the legislature’s websites or through public access terminals located in the Legislative Reference Library.
